TufDek is a roof-grade PVC vinyl membrane that gets permanently adhered and heat-welded to your deck surface. It creates a completely waterproof barrier that looks like a finished deck but functions like a roof. Water hits the surface and drains to the edges instead of soaking through to the structure below. All that water is looking for a way down, and with traditional decking, it goes straight through the gaps and into whatever is underneath.

We install TufDek on any deck surface where waterproofing matters. The most common applications we see are second-story decks over living spaces, where the room below needs to stay completely dry. Balconies on multi-level homes, rooftop patios on flat sections, and garage roof decks where you want usable outdoor space on top of the garage without worrying about leaks into the bay below.
TufDek is also a strong option when you are replacing an old deck surface that has been leaking. Rather than patching the same problem again, you can put down a membrane that solves it permanently. The material comes in over a dozen colors and patterns, including wood grain and stone looks, so it does not have to look like a rubber roof. It looks like a finished deck surface.
TufDek needs a smooth, dry plywood substrate, typically 3/4-inch fir tongue-and-groove plywood. If your existing deck surface provides that, we can work with it. If not, we will replace or overlay the substrate as part of the installation.
The vinyl membrane gets rolled out, cut to fit, and permanently adhered to the plywood using TufDek's proprietary adhesive system. Where multiple sheets meet, the seams are heat-welded together to form a continuous waterproof surface. There are no gaps, no fastener holes, and no seams that can separate over time. The edges get finished with PVC metal flashings that lock the membrane down and direct water away from the structure.

One of the biggest advantages of TufDek is that there is almost nothing to maintain. No sealing, no staining, no painting. You sweep off debris, rinse it occasionally with water, and check the seams once a year. That is it. The UV inhibitors built into the material keep it from fading, and the surface resists stains, mold, and mildew.

That is one of the best things about TufDek. There is almost nothing to maintain. Regular sweeping to clear debris, occasional cleaning with water, and a quick annual check of the seams and edges. No sealing, no staining, no painting. You do want to keep sharp objects off it and be careful with patio furniture legs, but day-to-day maintenance is minimal compared to wood or composite decking.
