Do you want to know more about commercial Duro-Last roofing? Maybe you have a new building that needs roofing or need roofing options for an upgrading project? As an authorized Duro-Last contractor, Bob Harvey Roofing can answer all your questions.
But what is commercial Duro-Last roofing? Duro-Last is a single-ply thermoplastic PVC membrane roofing system ideal for low-sloped or flat roofs. This type of roof is generally used for hospitals, schools, restaurants, worship centers, churches, industrial buildings, warehouses, retail and mixed-use buildings. It can also be used for residential buildings.
Duro-Last has a track record in North America of more than forty years, and during this time, the product was adapted to the unique weather conditions of the region. The company is passionate about technical excellence and continuing education. That is why they participate in all major technical committees of key organizations within the industry. And offer continuing education through the following organizations:
- The American Institute of Architects (AIA)
- Green Business Certification Inc (GBCI)
- International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC).
Duro-Last Roofing
What makes commercial Duro-Last roofing distinctive is its use of a high-quality reinforcement scrim inserted between two layers of PVC. The scrim gives Duro-Last membranes strength and puncture resistance. Knitted in-house, the threads-per-inch density of the scrim is among the highest in the industry.
Adding to its durability and performance, the Duro-Last reinforcement scrim uses a third tie yarn to prevent runs and stop tears from spreading. The above-scrim membrane thickness also provides additional protection to the most exposed part of the roof.
Quality control is crucial with the manufacturing of Duro-Last roofing. That is why the company provides a complete roofing system that includes deck sheets, parapet walls, penetrations, edge details and fasteners. Only authorized roofing contractors can install Duro-Last roofing systems. Duro-Last roofing systems can be mechanically attached, adhered, or induction welded using the Duro-Bond® system.
Standard and
custom-fabricated Duro-Last roofing systems are available. The custom-fabricated roofing system allows up to eighty-five per cent of the seams to be factory completed. It dramatically reduces the potential for leaks, installation is quicker, and maintenance less.
White is the standard Duro-Last color but is also available gray, dark gray, tan and terra cotta. There is also a series with a ballast or shingle design printed directly onto the membrane. Duro-Last membranes are available in various thicknesses and roll widths.
Regarding sustainability, Duro-Last has a take-back program that allows mechanically attached PVC roofs to be returned for recycling at the end of their useful life. It is then reprocessed into other products. Duro-Last also has solutions for rack-mounted commercial
rooftop solar applications.
Proven Performance
In the more than forty years commercial Duro-Last roofing have been used on buildings, its performance is proven. It is why Duro-Last offers a 15-year No Dollar Limit (NDL) Supreme Warranty. This warranty is transferable, has no exclusions for ponding water and offer coverage against consequential damages. Other warranties are also available.
